After a dramatic event at the second flight in yesterdays mare’s novice hurdle at Fontwell where Fu Fu was so nearly taken out of the race, she got back into contention and stayed on in the closing stages to take second place under a fantastic ride by James Best. Poor Fu Fu had nowhere to go sat in behind the faller at the second hurdle and ducked left to avoid a collision. In doing so James Best’s saddle slipped and our chance of continuing in the race briefly looked gone. However James being the fine never say die jock that he his got himself and Fu Fu sorted and carried on at the rear of the field. Fu Fu’s jumping was splendid throughout and got her well back into the race. Turning for home she looked booked for fourth place but stayed on well up the hill making up ground all the way to finish a fine second. Very well done to Robbie, James, Alice who adores her and Hen Knight for a little help!
